Project ZEBRA

Zero emission vehicle battery remanufacturing for energy storage applications (2017)

The project was a collaboration between Alp, Aceleron and Blue Vine Consultants.

The trio built a battery pack using recovered energy storage for use with Alp’s Biomass Generator.

The project sought to demonstrate that End-of-Life automotive batteries could be safely retrieved, evaluated and repurposed for energy storage devices. We sought to show that our M-BRIC system could be used in developing regions to store electricity at low cost. The aim was for M-BRIC to improve the lives of people who do not have regular access to electricity.
